Training Provider Registry tracker: check before you enroll
Entry-Level Driver Training must be completed with a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. Training completed with a provider not on the list will not be accepted. Status changes — a provider can be put under notice or removed — so the date of the check matters as much as the status.
Last checked for this page's method: 2026-10-27. Individual school statuses on this site are shown with their own check dates on the comparison table and school pages. This tracker page does not claim a statewide count that was not re-checked in this build.
How to check a school yourself, in 5 steps
- Search the school at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov/search, using the name exactly as it appears on its paperwork.
- Check the in-review list at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov/provider/inreview for a notice of proposed removal.
- Check the removed list at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov/provider/removed for a removal date.
- Download the registered training locations list from the registry and filter by state, if you want the full list rather than one school.
- Repeat the check on the day you enroll. Status can change during enforcement periods.
What removal means
Training conducted after a provider's removal date is considered invalid under FMCSA rules. If a provider was removed after you trained, check your own completion record and contact the state licensing agency before assuming either way. This site does not give legal advice on an individual case.
National context, from the registry homepage on 2026-10-27
These are national figures, not South Carolina figures: 18,330 total active providers, 31,128 total active locations, 475 locations under review, 9,966 locations removed. Source: FMCSA Training Provider Registry homepage counters, checked 2026-10-27. No South Carolina-only removed count was published on the registry pages read in this build, so none is claimed here.
What this site does and does not claim
- It does not publish a statewide "X providers removed" count as its own verified figure in v0, because that count was not re-checked against a downloaded registry file in this build. Earlier research reported large removal counts during 2025-2026 enforcement; those reports are noted as background, not republished here as a verified count.
- It does show, per school, a status label with a check date — or [UNVERIFIED] where the registry status was not confirmed in this build. A school marked unverified is not presented as confirmed active.
- Registry status is rechecked weekly in the maintenance plan. A check older than 14 days is removed from a school page, not left as current.
